dr. P. Pavlou
Bioelectronics (BE), Department of Microelectronics
Biography
Christos N. Pavlou was born in Patras, Greece in 1983. He graduated from the University of Patras in 2010 with a BSc in Materials Science, completing his thesis on micromachining operations and tool wear. Prior to his graduation, he had five years of experience at the Laboratory for Manufacturing Systems & Automation (LMS) within the Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering Department, where he volunteered with the Formula Student team. In 2010, he worked as a shift supervisor in the photovoltaic industry. In 2013, he achieved his Master's degree in Polymer Science and Technologies by conducting research on blending nanocomposites using bio-based polymers and organic nanoparticles. In 2014, he joined the Composite Materials Laboratory (CNML) at FORTH/ICE-HT and in 2015, he concurrently pursued a Ph.D. in the Chemical Engineering Department at the University of Patras, focusing on the production and characterization of graphene-based nanocomposites. He successfully completed his Ph.D. in 2022, and subsequently worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the FORTH/ICE-HT Institute until August 2023. He has actively contributed to various research projects, with a primary emphasis on harnessing the unique properties of graphene to create innovative multifunctional materials. In September 2023 he joined TU Delft as a postdoctoral researcher. His current research focuses on the fabrication and characterization of flexible graphene-based neural interfaces for multimodal interactions with brain tissue.
